Counseling With Purpose I have lived in the Pacific Northwest for over thirty years and originally from Phoenix, AZ. Like many others, I am awed by the incredible beauty all around and enjoy it anew every day. Though life’s ebb and flow might sometimes deter me, I enjoy hiking, fishing, home projects, tennis, and pickle ball. Clinical social workers provide counseling and therapy from a unique wholistic perspective. I have served greater Puget Sound communities and individuals for nearly 40 years, providing individual therapy, crisis counseling, residential care, and community based case management services. My expertise includes older adults facing the challenges of aging and adults with serious and debilitating mental disorders. I learn from each and every one of my clients through their unique personality and amazing personal histories. My primary focus is work with older adults who encounter any of the many challenges we all face – young and old – with aging. This includes loss of direction, health challenges, family conflicts, and mental health issues such as depression and memory loss. Primarily utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I offer brief, problem focused treatment. Accurately identifying the challenge and using CBT tools to promote rapid progress. When indicated, I incorporate other strategies such as mindfulness. Pragmatically focused, I strive to provide sound guidance and evidence based tools you can start using right away.
